IBM SPSS Statistics

Propel research analysis with a fast and powerful solution

IBM SPSS Statistics is an integrated family of products that addresses the entire analytical process, from planning to data collection to analysis, reporting and deployment. With more than a dozen fully integrated modules to choose from, you can find the specialised capabilities you need to increase revenue, outperform competitors, conduct research and make better decisions.

Why SPSS Statistics?

Work inside a single, integrated interface to run descriptive statistics, regression, advanced statistics and many more. Create publication ready charts, tables, and decision trees in one tool.

Automation

Users can go from using the visual user interface of Statistics to using code. IBM SPSS Statistics syntax is automated and can be generated quickly from dialogue boxes. This is intended to automate work, reduce error, and ensure that work is saved and shared in teams. Further automation allows users to create automated buttons to run reports at the touch of a button.

A comprehensive set of statistical tools

Work inside a single, integrated interface to run descriptive statistics, regression, advanced statistics and many more. Create publication-ready charts, tables, and decision trees in one tool. Some advanced analyses include analysis of variance, regression, clustering, decision trees, forecasting, power analyses, meta-analysis, neural networks, and dimension reduction. Users also have access to Bayesian statistics, Exact tests, and Bootstrapping.

Integration with Open Source

Enhance the SPSS Syntax with R and Python through specialized extensions. Leverage the 130+ extensions available on our Extension Hub, or build your own and share it with your peers to create a customized solution.

Simple & Accessible Statistical Analysis

A simple drag-and-drop interface to access a wide range of capabilities and work across multiple data sources. Select procedures from drop-down menus and set up analyses in dialogue boxes. Statistics also has data and variable views so that users can define and set variable properties and analyse data.

Flexible Licensing Options

IBM SPSS Statistics is a modular system made up of SPSS Statistics Base and a range of add-on modules, each adding extra functionality to your system. With more than a dozen fully integrated modules to choose from, it is fully customisable, so you can select your own specialised capabilities or purchase one of the three pre-packaged editions

In-Tool Help at your Fingertips

IBM SPSS Statistics makes it easy for users to access help while working. Help is available in the Help Menu, dialogue boxes and the output.

Extension Hub

The Extension Hub in IBM SPSS Statistics provides access to more procedures and extends the capabilities of Statistics. Users can download analysis, data manipulation, presentation, utility, and visualization extensions for SPSS Syntax, Python and R. For example, there are currently over sixty additional statistical procedures which can be downloaded to Statistics. Examples of statistical techniques from the Extensions Hub include kernel ridge regression, quantile regression, C5.0 decision trees and text analysis.

Overview

IBM SPSS Statistics is a modular product and available in three pre-packaged editions. Which edition is best for you depends on the type of analysis you’re doing. If you would like advice on this, just get in touch and we will be happy to help.

Fundamental analytical capabilities for a wide variety of business and research questions.

Additional capabilities to address issues of data quality, data complexity, automation and forecasting.

A full range of analytical techniques plus structural equation modeling (SEM). In-depth sampling assessment and testing, and procedures for direct marketing.

COREIBM SPSS Statistics Base

Forms the foundation for many types of statistical analyses, allowing a quick look at data and its easy preparation for analysis. Easily build charts with sophisticated reporting capabilities, formulate hypotheses for additional testing, clarify relationships between variables, create clusters, identify trends and make predictions.

Data Preparation

IBM SPSS Statistics Data Preparation makes data examination and preparation more efficient and accurate with tools that automate data preparation, validate data, detect anomalies, and provide options to optimally bin data.

Bootstrapping

IBM SPSS Bootstrapping allows users to use bootstrapping, a technique for testing model stability.

Advanced Statistics

Dive deeper into your data, analyse variances and the complex relationships of real world data to draw more dependable conclusions. Find out more

Regression

Predict categorical outcomes and apply various nonlinear regression procedures to extend the capabilities of IBM SPSS Statistics.

Custom Tables

Easily design, build, and format custom, comprehensive tables with statistical tests to showcase analytical results with IBM SPSS Custom Tables.

Missing Values

Manage and examine missing values to understand missing data patterns, estimate summary statistics and impute missing values to eliminate hidden bias in data.

Categories

Explore and visualise relationships in data and predict outcomes using predictive analysis, statistical learning, perceptual mapping and preference scaling.

Forecasting

Build and develop forecasting models for time-series data using auto regressive integrated moving average, autoregression, automated modelling, temporal causal modelling, seasonal decomposition and spectral analysis.

Decision Trees

Use Decision Trees for better profiling and targeting. Identify groups, discover relationships between them and predict future events. Find out more

Neural Networks

Use multilayer perceptron (MLP) or radial basis function (RBF) procedures to run models for nonlinear data.

Direct Marketing

IBM SPSS Direct Marketing is a complete toolkit for understanding customers and increasing ROI that includes RFM analysis, cluster analysis, prospect profiling, postal code analysis, propensity scoring and control package testing.

Complex Samples

Use planning tools such as stratified, clustered, or multistage sampling to compute statistics and standard errors from complex sample designs.

“Now that we are using SPSS with Version 1 we are able to extract meaningful and insightful data from our surveys in a more timely manner. This has real business benefits.”

Graeme Stevenson, Arts Council Northern Ireland

“Choosing SPSS Statistics Base and SPSS Modeler has been very advantageous. Proof lies in the results achieved and the fact that we rely so much on the tools. We will continue to seek other SPSS Inc. tools that will help us gain competitive advantage.”

Market Planning and Bundling Department, VTR GlobalCom

“With predictive analytics, we were basically able to close a hole in our pocket where money was leaking out steadily. We were also ready to show that this was just the beginning.”

Bill Dibble, Infinity Property & Casualty

“IBM SPSS predictive analytics software has given us the means to learn systematically from our experience. By learning from the history, we can know today who will buy a given product in the future.”

Ola Gistafsson, Länsförsäkringar

“Analytics gives us a method of assessing impact of factors that we may not be able to measure directly – so that we can do more with the data we already have, instead of making big investments in high-tech equipment.”

Matthiew Lirette-Gelinas, IBM Bromont

“Course was excellently presented with a clear overview of research and statistics principles and the IBM SPSS Statistics software package. I found it challenging but very informative and a useful introduction to IBM SPSS Statistics.”

Paul Sheehan, Cork Simon Community
